Seneca has a full suite of reports for teachers, from individual assignments to multiple classes and a whole school. These help identify knowledge gaps, attainment, and effort across homework and independent study.
How do I see the results for one assignment?
Clicking on one of your assignments will show you the results. You can see:
Best, first, and average score on each topic
Study time, and number of attempts
The individual Exam Question, Vocabulary, and Magic Quiz scores
Export to excel all of scores
Every column can be sorted, so you can see who performed best & worst.
If you set the assignment to more than one class, you can review all of the scores across all the classes.
How do I see a student's actual answers?
On the assignment results page you can review the actual answers students gave:
By clicking on a student's name, you can see all of their answers on the topics you assigned
By clicking onto the "Questions" tab, you can see all of the questions students were asked to answer, and rank them from the most incorrectly answered to the best.
How do I see reports for a whole class?
The Gradebook shows one class's scores across all the assignments you set. Change the date range to look at a half term or a whole year. Use it to see who is keeping up and who is falling behind.
The Gradebook by topic shows every student's score on every topic in a course. This includes independent study, not just assignments. Use it to see which topics a class has secured and which they haven't studied yet.
You can export both views to Excel. The Gradebook needs a synced class.
How do I see reports across multiple classes?
There are a few different ways to see reports for multiple classes' work, depending on what you're looking for
School reports
These are visual, dynamic in-app reports showing student & teacher activity.
You can filter this down to specific departments & year groups to assess adoption, scores, and homework completion. Use them to see how much Seneca is being used and where.
Knowledge Gaps
Knowledge Gaps helps identify the topics students performed badly at. You can select a group of classes, a score threshold, and then set each student individaulised assignments on their specific weak topics in a few clicks.
Individual Student reports
A Student Report brings together everything one student has done on Seneca across their subjects. Use it before parents' evening, or send it straight to parents connected on Seneca.
Whole school and custom reports
For the most data possible in the most flexible format, generate a report as a spreadsheet. A whole school report covers every class, with tabs for subjects, target groups (PP, SEN, EAL, FSM and more), students, teachers and classes. A custom report lets you choose the classes and date range. We email you when a large report is ready.
These reports need School Premium, and School Reports also needs a school sync.
