3. (If you haven't already) Choose a course for your class

  • Follow the steps to select the right subject, age group, exam board and course for what you're teaching your classes

  • If the course is not already on your class, selecting it here adds it.

4. Add content to the assignment

  • Topics – open a topic and tick Core content (and Exam questions where shown) for the sub-topics you want.

  • Exam Questions – pick auto-marked exam questions by sub-topic.

  • Quizzes – choose a ready made quiz.

💡 You can switch to another course to add more content from by clicking the name of the course at the top of the page

5. Add the details – name it, check the students, set the start and due date & time, then Create.

6. Share your assignment with your students by copying the link and sharing to Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom

Assignment section limit

To keep assignments manageable and motivating for students, we've introduced a maximum of 50 sections per standard assignment.

Assignments with 50 or more sections were found to feel overwhelming, functioning like an endless task that students couldn't realistically finish, which can undermine their motivation to study independently.

What this means when creating an assignment:

  • As you select sections, the assignment creation button will be disabled once you reach 50 sections.

  • To proceed, simply reduce the number of sections selected to below the limit.

  • Consider breaking large sets of content into multiple separate assignments spread across different due dates.
