Answering Graph Questions by Plotting Points

Some questions on Seneca ask you to interact directly with a graph by placing points at specific coordinates. This question type works on both desktop and mobile, so you can answer graph questions wherever you study.

How to Place a Point

To place a point on a graph:

  1. Read the question carefully to understand where the point should go.

  2. Click (or tap on mobile) the location on the graph where you want to place the point.

  3. If you need to reposition the point, drag it to the correct location.

  4. The graph includes grid lines and crosshair guides, points will snap to these automatically to help you be precise.

How Your Answer Is Marked

Each axis has a tolerance range, so your answer doesn't need to be pixel perfect as long as the point falls within the accepted range for each axis, it will be marked correct. If any part of your answer is wrong, only the incorrect points are removed when you use the try again flow, so you can correct just those without losing your correct placements.

Using Graph Questions on Mobile

Graph questions are fully supported on mobile with touch interactions. Tap to place a point and use a press and drag gesture to move it. The same snapping and tolerance features apply as on desktop.

Tips

  • Zoom into the graph if you need a closer view on mobile.

  • Use the crosshair guides to line up your point precisely on both axes before releasing.

  • If you're unsure, the try again flow will only remove wrong points your correct placements stay in place.
