What Is the Resource Hub?

The Resource Hub is where you’ll find all the teaching content you need for your classes, all in one place. From expert-written lessons to exam questions and community made quizzes, it’s designed to save you time and make lesson planning easier.

Welcome page for the Resource Hub

When you open the Resource Hub for the first time, you'll see a welcome page that introduces the Hub and helps you get started faster. It's designed to make it easier to understand what the Hub offers and how to use it for planning lessons or setting assignments. Once you've created your first assignment, the Resource Hub will load straight into its usual content view.

What You'll Find in the Resource Hub

The Resource Hub is split into three main sections:

Core Content

This is Seneca's expert created content.

  • Written by Seneca subject experts

  • Fully aligned with exam board specifications

  • Covers the key knowledge students need for their courses

If you're looking for reliable, curriculum mapped material, this is the place to start.

Exam Questions

Here you'll find a bank of exam style questions to help students practise and apply what they've learned. These are ideal for assessments or homework tasks.

Quizzes

This section includes quizzes that teachers have created in Seneca and shared with the community. It's a great way to reuse and adapt ideas from other educators.

Filtering Content

To quickly find what you need, you can filter resources by:

  • Year group

  • Exam board

  • Subject

Using filters helps you narrow down content so it's perfectly matched to your class.

Adding Content to an Assignment

If you like a resource, you can easily add it to an assignment:

  1. Click Add to assignment on any piece of content

  2. Browse other sections of the Resource Hub and add more items

  3. Your selected content will appear in your assignment cart, ready to use

You can mix and match content from different sections to build a complete assignment.

Using and Editing Quizzes

Quizzes work a little differently from Core Content:

  • You'll see a list of quizzes created by other teachers

  • Clicking on a quiz shows a preview including:

    • Short bullet point summaries

    • Questions (rather than slides)

From here, you can:

  • Add the quiz to an assignment

  • Share it with colleagues

  • Copy and edit the quiz

  • Create a game from the quiz

Copying and Editing a Quiz

When you click Copy and edit, you can customise the quiz to suit your class:

  • Click the pencil icon to edit

  • Add your own content

  • Change existing questions or add new ones

  • Include more:

    • Multiple choice questions

    • Word answer fields

    • Images

    • Text blocks

Once you're happy with your edited quiz, you can also download it as a PDF.

Faster assignment building with a floating action bar

Building assignments in the Resource Hub has been refreshed to be quicker and more visible.

How it works

  1. Browse the Resource Hub and click Add to assignment on any resource.

  2. As soon as you've added something, a floating action bar appears at the bottom of the screen showing the number of resources selected.

  3. The bar stays visible as you continue browsing, so "Create assignment" is always one click away, even while your basket is closed.

  4. Click the bar to open a drawer where you can review and remove the resources in your selection.

  5. When you're ready, continue into the normal assignment setup flow from that drawer.

Things to know

  • The floating action bar only appears once you have at least one resource in your selection.

  • The rest of the Resource Hub, including filters, Core Content, Exam Questions, and Quizzes, works exactly as before.

  • This change is designed to make "Create assignment" more discoverable, especially for teachers building assignments across multiple sections.
